Huge Brick Dinosaurs to Take Over Reading Town Centre This Summer
26th May 2026
Visit Reading’s summer campaign returns with exciting new family adventure
Reading town centre is preparing for a ROAR-some invasion this summer as giant brick-built dinosaurs arrive for the brand-new Reading Dino Trail, taking place from 25 July to 23 August 2026.

Following the huge success of last year’s Shaun the Sheep trail, Find the Flock, which attracted thousands of visitors to Reading across the summer holidays, this year’s flagship Visit Reading summer campaign promises an exciting new adventure for families, residents and visitors alike.
The free trail will transform Reading into an epic day out, with 19 incredible dinosaur models hidden across the town centre, in both indoor venues and outdoor public spaces. Built entirely from toy bricks, the collection includes everything from a towering 180,000 brick stegosaurus to a detailed T-Rex skull and a collection of adorable baby dinos.
Exciting prizes are also up for grabs for eagle-eyed explorers who spot all the clues and enter the online competition at visit-reading.com/dinotrail.
The initiative is brought to Reading by its town centre businesses, through Reading’s Business Improvement District (BID), and will be delivered in partnership with The Oracle and Broad Street Mall shopping centres. The event forms part of ongoing efforts to attract residents and visitors into the town centre with vibrant, family-friendly experiences.
The trail will also headline a packed calendar of family-friendly events and activities taking place across Reading this summer, helping to showcase the town centre as a vibrant destination for shopping, dining, entertainment and culture.
Alexa Volker, Reading BID Manager, said: “We’re so excited to bring another major family trail to Reading this summer following the fantastic response to Find the Flock last year. Trails like these create a real buzz in the town centre, whilst encouraging visitors to discover new places and support our fantastic local businesses through an accessible and completely free activity.”
