Don’t miss Reading’s Children’s Business Fair this July!
27th June 2025
Join us in the heart of Reading this summer for the return of the Children’s Business Fair, a fantastic, family-friendly event taking place on Saturday, 5th July 2025 on Broad Street.
Following the huge success of last November’s inaugural event, this open-air marketplace returns, bigger and better for 2025- with more than 40 stalls run entirely by young entrepreneurs aged 7 to 17. Supported by Reading’s Business Improvement District (BID), the Children’s Business Fair offers a unique opportunity for children to experience the thrill of running their own business in a real-world environment.
From handmade crafts and delicious bakes to original artwork and innovative inventions, every product is created, marketed, and sold by the children themselves. It’s a celebration of creativity, courage, and community - and admission is completely free, making it the perfect day out for families, shoppers, and anyone who loves discovering something unique while supporting local talent.
What to Expect:
- A wide variety of homemade products by local children - perfect for gifts or keepsakes
- Live business pitches from young entrepreneurs competing for awards like Best Product and Best Stand
- A chance to meet the business leaders of tomorrow (and maybe even spark your own creativity!)
“Last year’s fair was an incredible success, bringing energy and entrepreneurial spirit to the town centre,” says Alexa Volker, Reading BID Manager. “We’re proud to support this initiative again. It’s so important to give young people the space to explore their ideas, build confidence, and experience the realities of running a business. The passion and professionalism they bring is truly inspiring.”
Sam Rogerson, Founder of Children’s Business Fair UK, adds: “We’re absolutely delighted to be working with Reading again after such a fantastic event last November. The energy, creativity and confidence shown by the young entrepreneurs was incredible, and the response from the local community was hugely positive. It’s brilliant to be back, showcasing even more young talent right in the heart of the town. Reading is fast becoming a shining example of what happens when you give young people the space to lead, create and grow.”
Organised by Children’s Business Fair UK (CBFUK), the event is part of a growing national movement that since 2018 has helped thousands of young people build essential life skills through entrepreneurship. CBFUK believes the entrepreneurial mindset is critical for preparing the next generation for future success, and that learning happens fastest when children are trusted to take the lead.
Whether you're browsing or buying, come along, cheer them on and witness the power of young minds in action.
