Broad Street Mall set to Celebrate Pride with Broad Street Beats
15th August 2025
Broad Street Mall is preparing to burst into colour, music and celebration on Saturday 16th August, as Broad Street Beats returns with a special Pride edition.
In partnership with The Rhoom Studios, the centre will host a FREE family-friendly event from 11am - 3pm, showcasing an exciting mix of live music, local talent, and community celebration in the run-up to Reading Pride.
Taking centre stage will be an inspiring lineup of performers, all shining a spotlight on diverse local artists. With energy, inclusivity and entertainment at its core, this event promises an uplifting and welcoming experience for all ages.
Highlights on the day will include:
- FREE glitter art for all ages, bringing extra sparkle and colour to the celebration.
- An appearance from Topsy, Broad Street Mall’s beloved mascot, who will be joining in the fun and handing out FREE sweets throughout the day.
- FREE Subway samples - don’t miss your chance to try tasty new flavours.
- Lorna from The Green Carnation, offering LGBT+ support resources and her bold, Pride-themed T-shirt collection.
- The Jessica Project, raising awareness for survivors of domestic abuse through merchandise and face gem sales.
Broad Street Mall is proud to continue its support of the Every Little Thing Festival, which returns this September in memory of Diva Gibson, who tragically lost her life to suicide in 2020. Founded by her mother, Sinead Gibson, the festival shines a light on mental health awareness, support services, and suicide prevention. Sinead will join the Broad Street Beats event to help raise awareness and promote this important cause.
This summer edition of Broad Street Beats aims to unite the community and create meaningful moments through the uplifting power of live music. As part of an ongoing series of music showcases, Broad Street Beats will continue throughout the year and into 2026, offering regular opportunities for visitors to come together and enjoy free entertainment in the heart of Reading.
Steven Connolly, Centre Manager at Broad Street Mall, said: “With Broad Street Beats now just around the corner, we’re counting down the days to what promises to be a fantastic celebration. This event has grown into a brilliant way for us to connect with our community, and we’re especially proud to be shining a spotlight on Pride this summer. We can’t wait to welcome everyone for a day full of music and community spirit.”
