Reading is a renowned centre for water sports. Rowing has been at the heart of the town's life for over 150 years with a number of well-known regattas and rowing clubhouses on the waterside. The GB Rowing Team training lake, the Redgrave Pinsent Rowing Lake, is now based in Reading.
Reading Rowing Club is located on the banks of the Thames by Caversham Bridge. It welcomes everyone from complete beginners to international athletes. On the opostite bank, you'll find the University of Reading Boat Club and Reading Canoe Club. A little downstream, Wokingham Waterside Centre at Thames Valley Park offers kayaking, paddleboarding and dragon boats.
Reading's sailing centre is on the lakes at Sonning Eye, while to the south of Reading, Lagoona Park specialises in paddleboarding and has a summer inflatable aqua park.
