You are here: Visitor Info > Travel Information > Park & Ride
You may prefer to avoid traffic stress by using one of Reading’s Park and Ride Services. Parking is included in most tickets, but you need to register your car using the machines available at the site. Don’t forget if you have a concessionary bus pass you may still need to pay a nominal fee for parking, so it’s best to check at each site.
Mereoak Park and Ride
Mereoak Park & Ride opened in 2015 and is found on Mereoak Lane, Grazeley, just off the A33 by Junction 11 on the M4. Running approximately every 15 minutes, buses will get you into Reading in around 20 minutes. And, using naturally compressed gas, they offer a really sustainable way to travel into Reading town centre.
Adult day return fares cost around £4.70 at peak times and £5.20 all day. Please note single and Boost (18 and under) fares do not include parking.
Thames Valley Park and Ride (temporarily running the Winnersh Park and Ride service)
The park and ride service at Winnersh Triangle Train Station, just off the A329M (RG41 5RB) is temporarily running from Thames Valley Park and Ride, with the Winnersh site due to re-open in the Autumn. The new car park is at the end of the A329 just before Thames Valley Park. After leaving the car park, buses will run the normal route into town via London Road and Cemetery Junction.
Running approximately every 15 minutes, buses will get you into Reading town centre in around 15-20 minutes. Adult returns around £4.70 at peak times (Mon-Fri before 9:30am) and around £4 at off peak times (Mon-Fri after 9:30am and all-day Saturdays).
You can take advantage of special offers and discounts, such as 2 together and group savings at both Winnersh Triangle and Mereoak park & ride services. Full information on fares and running timetables for both services can be found on Reading Buses website.
