We’re Hiring! Head of Operations – Reading’s Business Improvement District (BID)
Based in Reading | Full-time | Fixed-term Contract (Maternity Cover)
Reading’s Economy & Destination Agency (REDA) is looking for a dynamic, hands-on Head of Operations to join our Reading Business Improvement District (BID) team on a fixed-term basis from mid-October 2025 to mid-November 2026.
This is a great opportunity to take on a varied and impactful role at the heart of Reading town centre, leading key initiatives that help make the area safer, cleaner, greener and more welcoming for businesses, visitors and residents alike.
As the main point of contact for BID levy payers, you’ll build strong relationships with a wide range of local businesses, from shops and restaurants to corporate offices and nightlife venues. You’ll coordinate daily operations, lead the business warden team, manage service contracts, and help bring new ideas to life, from wellbeing programmes and training sessions to high street events and seasonal trails.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about improving places and people’s everyday experiences
- Confident engaging with businesses and the wider public
- Skilled in organising and delivering projects with a high standard of service
- A natural problem solver who’s proactive, positive and great with people
Experience working in a customer-focused role, managing small teams or events, and using digital tools like CRM systems and Microsoft Office is essential.
