The creative industries across Berkshire are worth £2.05 billion, with over 1,700 businesses providing more than 9,000 jobs in the region. With its high concentration of fast-growing creative businesses and skilled workers, Reading is a thriving hub at the heart of this creative cluster.
In fact, Reading is more than that. In 2023, the Department for Culture, Media, and Sport (DCMS) named Reading one of just five "Creative Capitals" in the UK, joining London, Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow.
