You are here: Business Improvement District > Winter Warmer
Reading Station | 27 – 29 January 2026
Could you help support local people in need this winter by donating good quality second-hand warm clothing?
The Winter Warmer donation centre will be located in the Brunel Arcade at Reading Station, close to the main ticket office and Costa Coffee. Donations will be accepted from 27 to 29 January 2026, between 8:00am and 6:00pm. Suitable donations include clean, good quality coats, jackets, fleeces, hats, scarves and gloves. All items should be in wearable condition so they can be passed directly to people who need them. Both adult and children's sizes accepted.
Reading’s Winter Warmer Scheme is run by Southeast Community Rail Partnership and Reading Basingstoke Community Rail Partnership, with support from Reading Business Improvement District (BID).
Many people in Reading face difficult choices during winter and access to warm clothing cannot be taken for granted. The scheme focuses on collecting good quality second-hand winter clothing and redistributing it to people in need across the Reading community during the coldest time of the year.
In previous years, the Winter Warmer scheme has redistributed more than 500 items of adult and children’s clothing to some of the most vulnerable people in Reading, demonstrating the real impact that local donations can have.
If you’d like to support Reading’s Winter Warmer scheme but can’t donate in person, you can still help by giving online to Tap for Reading. Find out more here.
