Share your views on Crime and Safety in Reading
13th June 2025
Residents of Reading are being encouraged to take part in the Annual Community Safety Survey, an annual initiative designed to gather public views on crime, anti-social behaviour, and feelings of safety across the borough.
The survey, run by Reading’s Community Safety Partnership (CSP), is a key tool in shaping the town’s approach to tackling crime. It invites people who live, work or study in Reading to share their personal experiences and concerns.
The CSP is a statutory partnership made up of Reading Borough Council, Thames Valley Police, and other local agencies. Together, they are responsible for addressing crime and serious violence in the community. The feedback collected will inform future strategies and help ensure that local safety efforts align with residents' priorities.
The current Community Safety Strategy (2023–2026) sets out five main goals:
- Reducing crime in hotspot areas, including anti-social behaviour and hate crime
- Tackling knife violence
- Improving safety for women in public spaces
- Targeting drug activity and organised crime
- Reducing reoffending
The survey is open now and will close on 31 August 2025. Residents can find more information and complete the survey here.
