Self-Employment Drop-In Sessions Return to Support Whitley Residents

A popular support initiative aimed at helping Whitley residents explore self-employment has officially returned, and this time, it’s here to stay well into next year.
The weekly Self-Employment Drop-In Sessions, designed to guide local people interested in starting their own business, resumed in October and will run through February 2026. The programme focuses on boosting economic opportunity in Whitley, an area that continues to experience some of the highest unemployment rates in Reading.
The sessions offer practical advice, signposting and one-to-one guidance for those considering launching a small enterprise or turning a skill into a sustainable income.
