Reading BID host Summer Solstice event at historic Abbey Ruins
28th May 2025
This summer, Reading Business Improvement District (BID) invites local businesses and residents to mark the longest day of the year with a restorative open-air experience in one of the town’s most iconic settings.
The Summer Solstice Celebration, set in Reading's historic Abbey Ruins at the heart of the Abbey Quarter District, promises a calming blend of gentle yoga and immersive sound therapy designed to promote relaxation, wellbeing, and community connection.
Taking place on Thursday, 19 June from 5:30 – 6:30pm, the event offers attendees a unique opportunity to unwind and reconnect with nature through a slow, grounding yoga flow suitable for all levels. Participants will then be invited to lie back under the solstice sky and experience a deeply meditative sound bath, featuring the healing tones of a Moon Gong, Crystal and Tibetan Singing Bowls, and other vibrational instruments.
