REDA wins International CSR Award
21st July 2025
Reading’s Economy & Destination Agency (REDA) is proud to announce it has won an International CSR Excellence Award! This is a global recognition of its outstanding work in corporate social responsibility across the community, environment and workplace.
The Bronze award was accepted earlier this week at a prestigious ceremony held at St Paul’s Cathedral, where Chief Executive Nigel Horton-Baker represented REDA alongside other leading CSR organisations from across the globe.
This International recognition comes just nine months after REDA received a Silver UK CSR Accreditation in December 2024. These accolades highlight our strong performance across key CSR pillars – environmental sustainability, social inclusion and community engagement.
Key to this achievement is the work done through the Reading Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), delivering hands-on support to over 700 businesses. This includes:
- Over 400 tonnes of cardboard recycled last year alone
- Community clean-up days and donation drives
- Creation of green infrastructure like reedbeds along the Kennet Canal
- Wellbeing activities such as yoga, guided walks, and bootcamps
Nigel-Horton Baker, Chief Executive at REDA commented: “This award is a true reflection of the commitment and passion of our team and board. “Whether it’s helping people into good jobs, supporting town centre businesses, or driving forward climate action. We’re proud to represent Reading on the international stage."
Looking ahead, REDA is preparing to launch its first-ever Social Impact Report, showcasing the breadth of its work and setting out new goals for the future.
