By the River
The Crowne Plaza Reading (pictured above) is located on the south bank of the River Thames by Caversham Bridge. Book a room with a river view, stroll the Thames or just sit in the courtyard garden and enjoy the rays bouncing off the water. The hotel is walking distance to town centre & train station and you can just hop on a boat or walk along the river to great food accompanied by live music. We have a weekly live music event until the end of August.

A Walk in the Grounds
The classic country manor house, Wokefield Park, boasts its own 250 acres of Berkshire countryside as well as an 18-hole PGA championship golf course and driving range. The hotel is just south of Reading and has been completely transformed following a £20 million restoration. You can also make use of our jogging and walking routes that venture around the 250-acre estate. De Vere Wokefield Estate is also dog-friendly.

Start the St James’ Way
Malmaison Reading is excellently placed as a base to set off on the St James’ Way pilgrimage route. The original Brunel designed railway hotel with a modern look, it is obviously handy if you are arriving by train and also very close to your pilgrimage starting point the next morning, a two minute walk from Reading Museum where you can get your pilgrim passport stamped as you set off on your 68 mile Camino.
