Just on the outskirts of Reading town centre, Filter Coffee House is an independent café inspired by the rich coffee and chai traditions of South India. Founded by Mac, who grew up surrounded by the aromas of freshly brewed filter kaapi and spiced masala chai, Filter brings those cherished flavours to a cosy, modern café setting.

Here, every cup tells a story — from our signature Filter Kaapi (a smooth, bold South Indian coffee made with an 80:20 blend of coffee and chicory) to our house-crafted Masala Chai, brewed with Assam tea, cardamom, cinnamon, and ginger. We work directly with farmers to source the finest ingredients, ensuring every sip supports sustainable practices and authentic flavour.
