Carnival of the World

Experience the vibrant celebration of global cultures at Reading's annual Carnival of the World, taking place this Saturday 15 August, 12pm - 5:30pm, along Broad Street in the town centre. This free, family-friendly event transforms the heart of Reading into a lively carnival, showcasing music, dance, and costumes from Africa, Asia, South America, Europe and the Caribbean. 

Last year's fantastic performances inlcuded local and international artists, such as the award-winning Reading All Steel Percussion Orchestra (RASPO), who delivered rhythmic steel pan melodies. A dynamic mix of entertainment that celebrated the rich tapestry of global cultures through music, dance, and visual arts, the event featured a colourful Broad Street Parade with dancers, acrobats and fire eaters. 

Organised by CultureMix Arts and supported by Reading BID, Carnival of the World aims to celebrate the cultural diversity of those living in Reading. Don't miss this spectacular free celebration!
