Greyfriars Church and Centre are located in the very heart of Reading, on Friar Street, just a five-minute walk from Reading Station, which can be easily reached from most areas of the country.
A Grade I Listed Building, Greyfriars Church offers a wonderful mix of old and new: our light and airy glass-fronted Atrium Coffeeshop and Bookshop perfectly complement our brand new Greyfriars Centre, which was completed in September 2023. Purpose-built to support the work of Greyfriars Church, our sustainably designed Centre is actively used by a wide range of businesses and charities, from government agencies to local community groups.
All our hirers are allocated a parking space in our adjacent car park, and many more spaces are available a couple of minutes away in the Chatham Place Q-Park car park.
There are many rooms available for hire, including our Sanctuary, which can seat up to 400 people. Our newly built Greyfriars Centre boasts beautiful meeting rooms of varying sizes, all named after local rivers: from the Thames Suite that seats up to 100 people to our lovely Kennet, Loddon and Holybrook meeting rooms seating up to 50. If you are after a more intimate space, Berrybrook is a lovely pastoral space seating up to 6 people, and Emmbrook, our Boardroom, can host 12 people.
Tea, coffee and biscuits can be provided and our guests are looked after by our dedicated Bookings and Events Manager. A professional kitchen is available for use by caterers. All rooms are equipped with built-in speakers with Bluetooth connection, flat-screen TVs for presenting and our Thames Suite has a large drop-down screen perfect for presenting to a larger audience.
Our Centre is suitable for many different purposes, from small business meetings to large conferences or special celebrations.
