Reading’s dedicated gluten-free bakery and coffee shop, certified by Coeliac UK. YayLo is an independent café on Cross Street, a short walk from Reading station, serving cakes, sandwiches, quiches, afternoon tea and barista coffee — all baked from scratch in a kitchen that never handles gluten.

The name comes from two ideas: Yay, a small burst of joy, and Lo, from hello. Together they are the feeling we want you to have when you walk in. YayLo is a destination coffee shop: meet someone you love, sit with a book, or take a break between the station and the town centre, without scanning the menu for the one safe plate.

Everything is handmade on site and changes with the bakers’ day — from Nutella cake and classic carrot cake to savoury quiche, toasties and high-protein options. Dairy-free, vegan and plant-based choices are on the counter too. Eat in, take away, book afternoon tea, or order online, including brownie boxes and whole cakes for delivery across the UK.
