REDA (Reading's Economy & Destination Aegency) is the economic development and place marketing company for Reading. With the support of our key partners and board of directors, the REDA team provides leadership, collaboration and delivery for three key areas:
- Inward investment: We encourage inward investment by promoting Reading as a great place to do business and attracting both companies and developments to invest in the town. We help establish a thriving business environment for our local network to create profit and grow the area for mutual benefit. We actively encourage other national and overseas organisations to be a part of what we are building.
- Local business support: From start-ups to major corporates, we work with organisations large and small to help drive local business, increase employment skills and build networking opportunities. We also manage and run Reading BID (Business Improvement District), a membership organisation service made up of the 900 town centre businesses.
- Promoting Reading: We are the ‘guardians’ of Reading’s place brand and its 2050 Vision, responsible for showing people all Reading has to offer now and in the future. We lead and champion the town’s offering to both leisure and business visitors, as well as helping to shape a better Reading for those who choose to live, work and study here.
- Reading BID: REDA is the management company of Reading Central and Abbey Quarter BIDs. A BID (Business Improvement District) is a defined area where businesses have voted to invest collectively in local improvements to enhance their trading environment. The BID delivers year-round added value projects and services to maintain the vibrancy of the town centre, funded by a levy, which helps to keep Reading town centre safe, relevant and attractive for both residents and visitors. BID services are additional to the services provided by the public services and local authority. Our team manages and runs Reading’s two BIDs, delivering the business plans that have been voted in by our town centre businesses.
