Carnival of the World

Experience the vibrant celebration of global cultures at Reading's annual Carnival of the World, taking place on Saturday, 9 August 2025 along Broad Street in the town centre. This free, family-friendly event transforms the heart of Reading into a lively carnival, showcasing music, dance, and costumes from Africa, Asia, South America, Europe, and the Caribbean. 

Last Year's Event Featured: 

• Live Music Stage: Fantastic performances from local and international artists, including the award-winning Reading All Steel Percussion Orchestra (RASPO), who delivered rhythmic steel pan melodies. 
• Broad Street Parade: A colourful procession featuring dancers, acrobats, fire eaters, and performers in elaborate costumes, inspired by diverse carnival traditions. 
• Cultural Showcases: A dynamic mix of entertainment that celebrated the rich tapestry of global cultures through music, dance, and visual arts. 

Organized by CultureMix Arts and supported by Reading BID, the Carnival of the World aims to celebrate the cultural diversity of those living in Reading. Don't miss this spectacular free celebration!
