Experience the vibrant celebration of global cultures at Reading's annual Carnival of the World, taking place this Saturday 9 August, 12 - 5pm, along Broad Street in the town centre. This free, family-friendly event transforms the heart of Reading into a lively carnival, showcasing music, dance, and costumes from Africa, Asia, South America, Europe, and the Caribbean.
Last year's fantastic performances inlcuded local and international artists, such as the award-winning Reading All Steel Percussion Orchestra (RASPO), who delivered rhythmic steel pan melodies. A dynamic mix of entertainment that celebrated the rich tapestry of global cultures through music, dance, and visual arts, the event featured a colourful Broad Street Parade with dancers, acrobats and fire eaters.
