Seasonal Events

There is always something happening in Reading, with brilliant community-led and national events running throughout every season of the year.

Throughout summer there are a number of festivals in Reading to keep you entertained, from world-leading Reading Festival to home-grown local traditions such as Water Fest, Reading Town Meal and Down at the Abbey. Our multi-award-winning theatres run performances year-round, with special summertime productions often held outdoors in Reading’s parks and gardens or the historical Abbey Ruins. Food markets run twice-weekly as well as special weekenders such as Chilli Fest and Eat Reading usually in the Spring and Summer seasons. Check out our Summer in Reading information. 

Over the festive season, Reading really lights up. You’ll find Christmas-themed theatre productions,as well as pop up Christmas markets and arts and crafts such as wreath making. Plus, late night shopping events at Reading's shopping centres and live music in the town centre.
